What are the requirements for the Lubricating K Series Gear Reducers?

It is crucial to maintain the gear reducers after using the K-series. Whether it's the transmission of open or semi-open gear reducers, or the slower closed gear transmission, they are typically lubricated and oiled manually on a periodic basis, using either oil or grease as the lubricant. What conditions are required for lubricating the K-series gear reducers?

The lubrication of the K series gear reducers also has corresponding conditions, and the lubrication requirements vary for different reducers.

When the circumferential speed of the gears in a gear reducer exceeds 12 m/s, oil injection lubrication should be used, i.e., oil is supplied under pressure by a pump or a central oil supply station and is sprayed onto the mating surfaces of the gears through nozzles.

When v ≤ 25 m/s, the nozzle can be positioned on either the tooth engagement edge or the exhaust edge. When v > 25 m/s, the nozzle should be on the exhaust side of the tooth, to promptly cool and lubricate the just engaged teeth with the oil, while also providing lubrication.

The lubrication method for K-series gear reducers varies according to the circumferential speed of the gears. When the circumferential speed V of the gears is less than 12 m/s, the teeth of the larger gear are typically immersed in oil for immersion lubrication.

Gears transfer lubricant to the meshing teeth surfaces during transmission, while also flinging oil onto the box walls for heat dissipation.

The depth of the gear immersed in oil depends on the circumference speed of the gear; for cylindrical gears, it typically does not exceed one tooth height, but should generally not be less than 10mm.

The cone gears should be immersed to the full width of the teeth, at least half of the tooth width. In multi-stage gear drives, the oil can be brought to the tooth surfaces of the gears not immersed in oil by means of an oil wheel.

The amount of oil in the oil tank depends on the size of the gear transmission power. The lubrication of the K series gear reducer must meet the above conditions.
