Corrosion is one of the primary forms of damage to fasteners, which can cause significant losses to automobiles, motorcycles, various vehicles, and machinery. Statistics show that the direct economic loss caused by metal corrosion accounts for approximately 2% to 4% of the national GDP annually. To prevent corrosion and reduce losses, various methods have been adopted, with 46 Number Antifriction Hydraulic Oil being one of them. Currently, using anti-rust oil to protect metal fasteners is one of the common protective methods.
Corrosion Inhibiting Oil
There are numerous types of rust-proof oil threaded fasteners, ranging from common bolts, nuts, and screws to high-strength, high-performance, high-precision, high-added-value, and non-standard shaped parts. However, their rust-proof oil packaging methods are essentially the same. For threaded fasteners with surface oxidation, phosphatization, and blackening effects, most are coated on the surface and immersed in rust-proof oil and plastic packaging.
Corrosion-inhibiting oil is composed of adding one or more corrosion inhibitors (also known as oil-soluble corrosion inhibitors) and auxiliary additives to the basic components of oil. It is convenient to use, cost-effective, with excellent results, simple to operate, and easy to install. The corrosion-inhibiting oil industry is widely used, and the price of transformer oil varies. By adding some oil-soluble wax to solvent-thinned corrosion-inhibiting oil or ultra-thin corrosion-inhibiting oil, a wax-containing corrosion protective film can be obtained, significantly enhancing the oil film's resistance to salt spray and atmospheric conditions. However, wax is solid or semi-solid at room temperature and tends to precipitate in the oil, affecting the oil's appearance and quality, and even making it difficult to achieve ideal corrosion protection.
