Yesterday afternoon, at the construction site of the 4th Line's civil engineering project, a sprinkler truck was watering the exposed dust on the ground. Unlike the usual sprinkler trucks, the liquid it emitted was a dark brown color. The road sprayed with dust suppressant agent turned dark brown as well, and the moist ground effectively suppressed the dust from rising.
The project manager of Line 4 Metro explained that a week ago, they conducted a dust suppression agent pilot spray in certain areas of the construction site. "If you look closely, you'll notice the difference in the road surface compared to the adjacent one. The dust, after being sprayed, undergoes a physical change, forming a protective film on it, so the wind no longer blows up dust."
Dust suppressant is a colorless and odorless concentrate that, after being diluted with water, is directly sprayed onto the surface of piles. Once the water evaporates, a solidified layer between 3 to 5 millimeters thick forms on the soil surface, thereby preventing dust from being scattered.
