An eddy current brake is a superior performance analog loading actuator that absorbs power by utilizing the principle of eddy current loss. It controls the braking torque by means of exciting current, and its output torque has a good linear relationship with the exciting current. It also boasts fast response speed and simple structure. Eddy current brakes are widely used in dynamometer loading. That is, when measuring the torque, speed, power, efficiency, current, voltage, and power factor of motors, internal combustion engines, gearboxes, and other power and transmission machinery, eddy current brakes are used as simulated loaders. They can also be interfaced with computers to achieve automatic control. Eddy current brakes are extensively applied in the automatic tension control systems of winding devices in printing, packaging, paper and paper product processing, textiles, dyeing, wire and cable, rubber leather, and metal sheet and strip processing industries.
