As modern vehicles demand higher performance, the number and power consumption of circuits on cars have significantly increased, thus, how to efficiently and rationally arrange a large number of wiring harnesses within the limited space of a vehicle has become a challenge for the automotive manufacturing industry. This article focuses on the layout of automotive wiring harnesses and briefly discusses the precautions to be considered in their arrangement.
Firstly, the harness fixing points are arranged reasonably and securely fixed.
(1) Based on the actual installation position of the wire harness on the vehicle. To prevent sagging and displacement of the harness, considering the weight of the harness, the method of fixation, and the convenience of the fixation location, it is necessary to use sufficient and reasonable fixation points and methods to secure the wire harness.
(2) The harness is fixed according to the direction and specific shape of the vehicle body, with the distance between two fixed points generally not exceeding 300mm; there are no support points in straight-line distance; a fixed point can be set at the position of an obtuse angle bend; for a right angle bend, two fixed points should be set, and sharp angle bends should be avoided in the harness.
According to the shape and outer diameter of the conduit restraint, the type and size of the fixed clip should be selected to meet the requirement of supporting the weight of the conduit restraint.
(4) At the points where connectors are connected to other cables and electrical components, the fixed points should be set in an appropriate location no more than 120mm in front of the connector.
(5) Consider setting a fixed point on the main axis at the fulcrum location, with the distance between the fulcrum and the fixed point not exceeding 100 mm.
Ensure there is ample space in the direction of the fixed buckle installation for easy installation and removal of the buckle.
