Project Status

1. The granulation tower is of concrete construction, with the exterior anti-corrosion layer severely corroded. Some paint layers have peeled off, and there are concrete chunks in certain areas. Repairs and painting for anti-corrosion are required.

2. Corrosion Causes: The outer corrosion of the urea granulation tower is primarily due to fertilizer crystallization and chemical corrosion. When crystallization encounters water, it melts into the surface cracks of the concrete, re-crystallizes internally, and in severe cases, can cause cracking of the concrete and corrosion of the reinforcing steel in the granulation tower, resulting in serious consequences for the granulation tower.

Operation Method

Ladder suspension operation for elevated work, each construction worker is equipped with one operation rope and one safety rope, working from top to bottom.

Construction Methods and Corrosion Prevention Techniques

1. Firstly, construction personnel must provide a 24-hour certificate, undergo safety training and study in the factory, workshops, and team levels. After completing the safety training, they must pass a simulated exam before they can begin construction.

2. Enter the granulation tower construction site, pull the perimeter security line, and set up warning signs and construction instructions.

3. The granulation tower is equipped with a ladder structure. Construction personnel must wear protective gear when ascending. Safety ropes, securing ropes, and material hoisting ropes must be properly secured before any work can be carried out.

4. Surface work on the granulation tower uses suspended operations with standing ladders. First, scrape off peeling paint and loose concrete layers from the outer wall using a scraper, grind with an angle grinder, fill uneven areas with epoxy putty, and apply two coats of epoxy primer and two coats of topcoat.

5. Under the granulation tower, it is stated that there should be a dedicated supervisor present at all times. Supervisors are strictly prohibited from leaving their posts or being absent. In case of major issues, timely communication with the factory's supervisors should be ensured. Ensure that the roller and brush used for painting are securely tied together. It is forbidden to have people below the seat board to prevent falling objects from high above.
