What are the classifications of stainless steel sheets?
Stainless steel plates are categorized in various ways depending on different standards:
1. Organized by steel type, it can be categorized into Austenitic types (200 series, 300 series stainless steel), Austenitic-Martensitic types (combining the characteristics of both Austenitic and Ferritic stainless steel), Ferritic types (409, 430, 434 series stainless steel), and Martensitic types (403, 410, 414, 416, etc.).
2. Categorized by thickness: thin plates (0.2mm-4mm), medium plates (4mm-20mm), heavy plates (20mm-60mm), and extra heavy plates (60-115mm).
3. Categorized by production method: hot-rolled steel plates (formed by heating in a furnace) and cold-rolled steel plates (produced through the cold rolling process).
4. Classified by surface characteristics, they can be categorized as: matte silver-white (for applications not requiring surface luster), mirror-shiny (for building materials, kitchenware), coarse/medium/fine/extra-fine grinding (for building materials, kitchenware), textured grinding (for buildings, construction materials), nearly mirror-polished (for art, decorative purposes), and mirror-polished (for reflective mirrors, decorative use).
5. Categorized by application, they include bridge steel plates, boiler steel plates, shipbuilding steel plates, armor steel plates, automotive steel plates, roofing steel plates, structural steel plates, electrical steel plates (silicon steel sheets), spring steel plates, and more.
