Currently, sudden pollution incidents are causing frequent changes in water quality. Water pollution not only directly affects water safety but also poses harm to the aquatic ecosystem. In response to this situation, a series of measures have been sequentially implemented across the country. Recently, in accordance with the Emergency Monitoring Capacity Construction Plan of the Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau, the Xiangyang Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau has launched the Xiangyang Emergency Monitoring Capacity Construction Project.

To effectively respond to sudden water quality pollution incidents and promptly understand water quality indicators, on March 18, 2022, the Xiangyang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment organized the distribution of equipment for the Emergency Monitoring Capability Construction Project and conducted emergency monitoring training. According to the allocation plan, equipment was provided to the Xiangyang Urban Environmental Protection Monitoring Station and environmental protection monitoring stations in various counties (cities, districts), and relevant personnel were trained in emergency monitoring.

Xiangyang City's Environmental Protection Bureau has procured through an open bidding process.Shandong霍尔得电子科技有限公司A total of 42 portable emergency monitoring instruments, including water quality monitors, gas monitors, and biological toxicity monitors, were distributed according to the actual needs of each monitoring station, further strengthening the hardware foundation for emergency monitoring.

In conjunction with equipment distribution, the Xiangyang Municipal Bureau of Ecological Environment organized representatives from instrument manufacturers to demonstrate the handheld biological toxicity detection instrument produced by Houdi Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. They trained key staff at various monitoring stations, instructing them on the operation and use of the equipment, and explaining emergency monitoring and protection knowledge. Through this training, the practical operational abilities of the relevant personnel were enhanced.

The implementation of the Xiangyang Emergency Monitoring Capability Construction Project has further enhanced the ability of various monitoring stations to carry out emergency monitoring. With the support of professional water quality monitoring instruments, it has also provided strong backing for daily monitoring and responding to environmental emergencies.
