Cranes are categorized into two types: 1. Mobile cranes, including truck cranes, crawler cranes, and overhead cranes; 2. Fixed cranes, such as port cranes, tower cranes, and gantry cranes. Cranes, also known as hoists, are widely used lifting and transportation machinery in ports, workshops, power plants, construction sites, and other locations. The term "crane" is a generic name for lifting machinery. The most frequently referred to cranes are truck cranes and crawler cranes. The uses of cranes include lifting equipment, emergency rescue, lifting, machinery, and assistance. 1. Truck Crane; The truck crane, also known as the trailer crane, combines a truck with a crane, allowing for immediate operation without assembly. Its advantages are convenience, flexibility, high work efficiency, quick relocation, and improved productivity. The disadvantages include terrain limitations and inability to handle large equipment. 2. Crawler Crane; The crawler crane is a shortened term for the crawler crane, featuring a crawler-type undercarriage and a crane that moves on crawler tracks. Its advantages are high lifting capacity, the ability to lift and move heavy loads, and strong lifting capabilities. The disadvantages are the complexity of disassembly, non-extendable crane arms, and strong limitations. It is suitable for large factories and operations within factory areas.
