Raw materials for thick-walled steel pipes come from steel billets, which must be processed through specific techniques into the required billets. These billets are then transported to the furnace via conveyors for heating. Since the billets need to be pierced through by a piercing machine after being removed from the furnace, it is crucial to control the furnace temperature during the heating process.
After piercing, the round billet is sequentially processed through three-roller oblique rolling, continuous rolling, or extrusion. Following extrusion, the tube must be resized and deformed, and then the钢管is formed through piercing in the sizing machine.
The drilling process for round steel can be customized to produce large-diameter, extra-thick-walled seamless pipes, which is a very convenient method for obtaining such pipes.
Seamless steel tubes are pipes made entirely from solid metal without any seams on the surface. Manufacturing Process:
① Main Production Process of Hot-rolled Seamless Steel Tubes
Pipe billet preparation and inspection → Pipe billet heating → Piercing → Rolling → Steel pipe reheating → sizing (reduction) → Heat treatment → Finished pipe straightening → Finishing → Inspection (non-destructive, physical and chemical, on-site inspection) → Storage
② Main production process of cold rolled (drawn) seamless steel tubes:
Raw Material Preparation → Pickling & Lubrication → Cold Rolling (Drawing) → Heat Treatment → Straightening → Finishing → Inspection
Hot rolling and cold drawing are two common methods for producing seamless steel pipes. The production process for cold-rolled seamless steel pipes is generally more complex than that for hot rolling.
