However, if the supplier's product lacks a ground-loop infrared interface, or if the interface is damaged, or if the new vehicle detector and the ground-loop infrared interface are not compatible, they connect the vehicle detector's two sets of signals to the barrier gate's open and close ports. This ensures the barrier gate closes automatically when the vehicle passes, and it prevents the barrier gate from opening when the vehicle touches the ground-loop inductance. The only drawback is that the barrier gate may open if the vehicle is pressed against the ground-loop barrier.
