Noise reduction is aimed at addressing the airflow noise issues in central air conditioning systems. The most common sources of airflow noise are the intake and exhaust ports of ventilation ducts. In addition, the intake and exhaust ports of air conditioning units, fans, and cooling towers are also prone to noise. Specific noise reduction measures involve using mufflers or other noise reduction devices to eliminate airflow noise. Depending on the nature of the noise, whether air noise or noise from the noise source, the noise reduction devices vary accordingly.

3. Soundproofing

Central air conditioning units have many equipment sources of noise, such as the refrigeration main unit, fan unit, chilled water pump, and cooling towers, all of which produce significant noise. These require soundproofing treatment. The common solution is to use soundproof enclosures; simply placing the equipment inside these enclosures can greatly reduce the noise. However, it's important to ensure proper ventilation and air exchange within the enclosure. Cooling towers, due to their high demand for ventilation and air exchange, are not suitable for soundproof enclosures and require the use of soundproof barriers for noise emission.

2. Vibration Reduction

Central air conditioning units and auxiliary equipment both require vibration reduction due to the slow decay of vibrations, which can easily propagate through solid objects like walls. If the equipment vibrates significantly, vibration dampers should be installed to reduce its vibration. For equipment with less vibration, the use of damping layers can achieve vibration and noise reduction.
