The fully enclosed fluorescent magnetic powder flaw detector is suitable for non-destructive testing of components made from ferromagnetic materials such as shafts, gears, and disc-type parts in industries such as machinery, automotive, aerospace, internal combustion engines, and railroads. It can detect minute defects such as cracks and inclusions caused by casting, forging, welding, stretching, quenching, grinding, and fatigue on the surface layer and near the surface layer of parts.
Magnetic field lines in nature often maintain their continuity. When ferromagnetic workpieces are placed in a magnetic field that saturates them, the magnetic field lines are guided through the workpieces. If the field lines encounter discontinuities in the workpiece material (such as cracks, inclusions, pores, etc.), they will bypass these regions with lower permeability (higher magnetic reluctance) and leak out through the surface, forming a "leakage field."
