The cam divider is a high-precision indexing indexing intermittent conveying device, specifically designed and developed to cater to highly automated, high-precision, and high-speed production and assembly scenarios. Assembled with a turntable, various assembly actuators, feeding and unloading devices, and a control system, it becomes an efficient and high-precision automated unit. It is widely used in the automation and assembly processes of various industries, including semiconductor chips, electronics, electrical components, hardware, light industry, and food and beverage. Currently, the usage of cam dividers is increasingly widespread, making their maintenance and regular inspection and repair crucial. Kaimings Cam Divider Company's technology team explains the causes of cam divider failures, as well as aspects such as their usage, maintenance, inspection, and repair.

Reasons for and Solutions to Separator Malfunctions:

Dirt and offcuts around the transmission system can impede movement; therefore, it is essential to regularly clean up any debris and offcuts surrounding the transmission.

2. The installation base and the input/output shafts of the separator are not aligned with the required input/output directions of the equipment. There is an inclination or eccentricity. This results in...Affects output accuracy and severely damages the separator. This is because the separator is under an abnormal force state at this time. Solution: Adjust the installation base surface to align with the input and output shaft directions of the separator.

Improper adjustments can affect the cutting precision, leading to shocks, noise, and damage to the cutter, preventing it from reaching the expected rotational speed and load-bearing capacity. This consequently shortens the cutter's lifespan. Adjustments are divided into two parts: the adjustment of the spacing between shafts and the adjustment of the input and output shaft positions.

Axle spacing adjustment:

If the separator experiences wear over time, causing a gap in the positioning work area, this gap can be eliminated by adjusting the spacing between the shafts. This can be achieved by synchronously adjusting the eccentric sleeves at both ends of the input shaft.

2. Adjustment of input/output axial positions:

Axial positions of the cam splitter can be adjusted by adjusting the lock nuts on either side of the cam or the bearing covers on either side of the input shaft. The axial position of the splitter wheel may also be adjusted by adjusting the bearing covers at the ends of the output shaft or the lock nuts at the rear. Please note: The splitter is factory-set and not to be adjusted by the user to prevent misadjustments. If an adjustment is necessary, please contact the manufacturer.

When the clearance between the camshaft bearing and the shaft journal of the separator exceeds 0.15mm, a new bearing should be replaced to restore the normal fit between the shaft journal and the bearing.

Select bearings of the same repair size according to the dimensions of the camshaft journal.

The fit between the camshaft bearing and the bore should have a certain amount of interference.

(3) Insert the camshaft into the bearing bore and rotate it several times. Adjust it appropriately based on the tightness and contact area. To inspect the fit tightness, apply oil to the bearing, rotate the camshaft several times, then gently move the timing gear with your fingers. It should rotate smoothly without any binding. When the camshaft is moved up and down, there should be no noticeable gap sensation.

(4) To hone the bearing according to the shaft neck dimensions, proceed as follows: place the bearing on the corresponding shaft neck, rotate the bearing several times, then remove it. Refine the bearing alloy based on the contact situation. After refinement, reattach the bearing to the shaft neck and rotate it again. Remove the bearing and refine it based on the contact situation once more, repeating this process. Hone until the thickness of the feeler gauge inserted between the bearing and shaft neck equals the fit allowance between the bearing and the shaft neck hole plus the clearance between the bearing and the shaft neck. Slight resistance when pulling the feeler gauge is desirable. In this manner, after the bearing is pressed into the bearing hole in the cam divider, the reduced inner diameter of the bearing is close to the fit allowance between the bearing and the shaft neck hole, achieving the required clearance. During honing, ensure the uniformity of the bearing wall thickness to maintain concentricity of all bearing tracks.

(5) Remove the rear cover of the cylinder block. When installing the new bearings, pay attention to aligning the oil holes. Ensure that the camshaft bearings are not installed incorrectly, as this may affect the lubrication of the rocker arm mechanism.

5. The cam has been damaged, causing the separator to malfunction and no longer be usable. The cam can be replaced; however, the separator can still be used with minor or no damage. Regularly clean debris and waste around the transmission system to prevent blockages in the input and output shaft connections and transmission components. Regular maintenance is required. Pay attention to the tightness of sprockets, couplings, pulleys, gears, and output drive units. Ensure that the tension of the sprockets and belts, and the meshing clearance of the gears, are in normal condition. If any of the following conditions are detected, stop operation immediately: abnormal sounds, reverse impact in the cam separator's stationary area, abnormal vibrations, no or unstable separation output during the corresponding cycle count, or complete lack of separation output at a specific position.

6. A separator fault occurs due to the damage of the needle roller bearing within the separator. The output shaft can be removed to replace the needle roller bearing. There are two methods: First, loosen the output sleeve, remove the output shaft, and do not loosen the rear cover. This ensures the axial position remains unchanged upon reassembly. Second, loosen the locknut at the rear of the output shaft and the output sleeve at the front, allowing the output shaft and sleeve to be removed as a unit. Upon reassembly, simply tighten the locknut to restore the output shaft to its original position.
