A type is through-type centerless grinding, which is generally used with a single abrasive wheel. Its guide wheel features a single-leaf double曲面. The intermittent divider drives the eccentric cam to move axially, used solely for grinding smooth shafts.
Another type is the cutoff centerless grinding, which involves multiple abrasive wheels. For example, the grinding of the existing 480 eccentric cam can be performed using this method, suitable for stepped shafts. The guide wheel is composed of a multi-disc assembly, but the workpiece cannot move axially.
In any type of grinding method, the center of the workpiece is higher than the center of the abrasive wheel and guide wheel. The intermittent cutter typically consists of a feeding station, grinding station, measuring station, and unloading station for cutting-type grinding.
