Have you ever experienced knowing there's a leak in your home but not knowing where it's coming from or how to deal with it? Many of our friends have thought about doing leak detection, but are still not very clear about it and feel puzzled.
Today, let's educate everyone on the knowledge of leak detection.
【Professional Leak Detection Instruments】
① Pressure Test. If indoor plumbing is buried within walls, the water pipe pressure test method can be used to determine if there is actually a leak.
First, close the main gate and turn off all water valves, showerheads, and similar fixtures throughout the home.
Next, we disassembled one of the water valves to conduct a pressure test. We applied pressure of around 10 kilograms and monitored for any drop in water pressure issues.
If the pressure drops significantly, it indicates a leakage issue.
4. Further testing will continue; if the pressure drops again, it will confirm the presence of a leak.
Infrared thermal imaging cameras can detect leaks in underfloor heating and hot water pipes. They can identify the locations and pathways of pipes such as underfloor heating pipes, tap water pipes, and hot water pipes, and accurately pinpoint the position of pipe leaks.
1. The leaky section of the pipe exhibits a blurred, non-linear spread, appearing as a mass of heat in the infrared image.
2. The leakage area has a higher temperature, appearing as a bright white color in the infrared image.
③ Sound Leak Detector. The Sound Leak Detector utilizes the Doppler method of ultrasonic heterodyne to detect gas leaks.
1. Conducting detection along the pipeline above it in an S-shaped path, paying close attention to discern any abnormal leakage noise.
2. When an anomaly area is detected, it should be measured repeatedly and the changes in the frequency and intensity of the sound should be compared until the anomaly location is confirmed.
The above three instruments are the common leak detection tools used in home water leakage repairs. We hope they are helpful to property owners with doubts!
