During the extrusion process, the transformation of the material from a glassy state to a molten state is crucial. In addition to maintaining a balance between the heat required for material plasticization and the heat supplied to achieve ideal plasticization, melt pressure is also a vital control parameter. Due to the resistance of the die and the compression ratios at different sections of the screw in the extrusion process, the material does not exist under atmospheric pressure. Different dies and the compression ratios at different sections of the screw are generally constant and unchangeable.

Under the condition of maintaining the same extrusion speed, altering the feeding speed either up or down results in a change in the volume of material in the feeding section of the screw, while the volume of material in the exhaust section remains constant. Therefore, as the compression ratio changes, the feeding and compression sections experience a corresponding increase or decrease in melt pressure. When the feeding speed is kept constant, adjusting the extrusion speed either up or down also changes the volume of material in the feeding section of the screw. The volume of material in the exhaust section remains unchanged, so the feeding and compression sections vary with the compression ratio, leading to an increase or decrease in melt pressure. The feeding speed synchronously increases or decreases with the extrusion speed, and the melt pressure changes due to the increase or decrease in speed, rather than a change in the volume of material in the feeding section of the screw.
