Introduction and Classification of Industrial Belts

Industrial belts, as the name implies, are belts used in industrial applications. They are categorized into three types: industrial transmission belts, automotive transmission belts, and conveyor belts. Industrial belts and automotive belts are both transmission belts, designed to transfer mechanical power. They are primarily composed of rubber and reinforcing materials (such as cotton canvas, synthetic fibers, or steel-reinforced layers, etc.). Compared to gear and chain drives, industrial belt drives offer advantages such as simple mechanisms, low noise, and low equipment costs, making them widely used in various power transmission systems. The circular belts on machines, made of rubber and fitted onto two belt pulleys, are commonly known as industrial belts.
