Pumps are not only widely used in our country but also span a broad spectrum of applications. They account for a significant portion of total energy consumption in China's industrial and agricultural construction. Pumps are increasingly employed in various fields such as shipping, metallurgy and mining, thermal power generation, nuclear power, electricity, petrochemical industry, farmland drainage, and irrigation. Therefore, researching energy-saving technologies for pumps is highly necessary. Reducing the energy consumption of pumps holds great importance in China's long-term energy-saving planning.
Starting from the reasons for high energy consumption in pump operation, through the calculation and analysis of energy consumption in the pump system, the issues existing in the use of pumps were identified, and the technical approaches for pump energy-saving were elaborated. Pumps are one of the most important energy-consuming equipment in China's industrial and agricultural production, widely used in all aspects of production and daily life. Statistics show that the energy consumption of pumps in China currently accounts for about 20% of the total national power generation. It is evident that improving the efficiency of pumps and reducing their energy consumption is of great significance for China's energy-saving efforts.
However, at present, the pump efficiency in our country is generally low, especially when compared to some developed countries, where the pump efficiency is much lower. With the development of pumps, many pump design units and pump manufacturers have begun to understand the energy-saving structure of pumps and have started to invest in the construction of energy-saving pumps. Yet, there are still some issues in the process of energy-saving pump construction that hinder its development. How to effectively improve the energy-saving technology of pumps is a very urgent issue that lies before us.
