The screw vacuum pump consists of a chamber formed by a pair of parallel helical rotors and the pump body, with no friction between the rotors and the pump body, maintaining a certain gap. The two rotors and the pump body create a sealed cavity. As the rotors rotate, they continuously compress and carry the gas in the sealed cavity to the exhaust port for discharge.
A screw vacuum pump's single stroke is equivalent to a single-stage pump, while multiple strokes equate to a multi-stage pump in series. Compared to dry vacuum pumps in series, such as claw vacuum pumps and multi-stage Roots vacuum pumps, the screw vacuum pump, which lacks internal channels between stages and directly pushes gas from the suction side to the discharge side, is less prone to clogging when handling condensable gases, dusty, or particulate-laden gases, and is easy to clean. The inhaled gas is compressed smoothly, resulting in a pressure higher than that at the discharge. This design ensures that no oily substances are mixed with the discharged gas. The motor's power is transmitted to the drive shaft through a coupling device, which then transmits power to the driven shaft via timing gears. As the screw vacuum pump does not require oil lubrication or water sealing, the pump chamber is completely oil-free.
