How to Choose a CNC Bending Machine: What Should You Pay Attention to When Buying One? Currently, understanding some basic knowledge about bending machine procurement will help you make a satisfying purchase. Let's take a look below:
Bending machine molds are tools used by bending machines to shape and process sheet materials. These tools are composed of various parts, with different molds being made up of different components.
When selecting bending machine dies, it's crucial to consider the material grade and the maximum processing thickness and length. If most of the work involves 16-gauge low-carbon steel with lengths up to 10 feet, the free bending force need not exceed 50 tons. However, for extensive bottom-die forming operations, a machine with a 150-ton capacity may be more suitable.
Assuming thicker materials at 1/4 inch, a 10-foot free bend requires 165 tons, while bottom-die bending (corrective bending) necessitates at least 600 tons. If the majority of parts are 5 feet or shorter, the tonnage is roughly halved, significantly reducing purchasing costs.
The length of the parts is quite important in determining the specifications of the new machine. When using free bending, the bending radius is 0.156 times the distance of the die opening. During the free bending process, the distance of the die opening should be eight times the thickness of the metal material.
