The four-roll bending machine is a commonly used metal bending equipment, consisting of the upper roll, lower roll, side rolls, and support roll. It is used to bend metal plates into cylindrical, arched, or conical parts of a certain taper at room temperature. The working principle of the four-roll bending machine is to gradually bend the metal sheet into the required shape through friction and compression forces between the four rolls.
What is a four-roll plate bending machine?
The four-roll bending machine is a metal plate bending and straightening equipment, specifically designed for the forming and bending of metal plates. It can complete the pre-bending and rolling formation of various-sized cylindrical and arched workpieces in a single loading process. With the aid of auxiliary devices, it can also be used for the rolling of conical cylinders. The characteristics of the four-roll bending machine are as follows:
1. Automatic alignment of materials. The sheet is immediately automatically aligned as it reaches the rear roller.
2. The upper and lower rolls precisely hold the sheet metal at the tangent position, achieving a short straight edge length (excellent pre-bending function).
The sheet is fed through, always held between the upper and lower rolls of the press to ensure consistent and ideal positioning.
4. One-time Coiling Completion. The entire cylinder can be finished in a single coiling process, including the pre-bending at both ends of the sheet material. Only the position of the side roller needs to be set, it will automatically align, and there's no need to turn the sheet material over.
5. Auxiliary Equipment. Both straightening, pre-bending, and rolling are centrally controlled. It enables fast and safe pre-bending without damaging the edges of the sheets; the lower material support includes a material alignment device to eliminate misaligned edges during the rolling process. The upper material support is mainly set for rolling large diameter cylinders, and can replace overhead lifting equipment in conjunction with sheet rolling.
Section 2: Working Principle of Four-Roll Plate Bending Machine
A four-roll bending machine is a crucial metalworking equipment, primarily used for rolling metal sheets. Its working principle involves using the friction and compressive force between the four rollers to gradually bend the metal sheets into the desired shape. Specifically, the positions and speeds of the four rollers can be adjusted to achieve different rolling results.
Four-roll plate bending machines typically consist of the upper roller, lower roller, side roller, and support roller. The upper and lower rollers can be controlled for position and pressure by a hydraulic system or mechanical control. The side roller can also be moved and adjusted via mechanical or hydraulic systems. The support roller is used to support metal sheets to prevent deformation or creases.
When operating a four-roll plate rolling machine, the operator first adjusts the top and bottom rolls to clamp the metal sheet between them. Next, the side roll can be adjusted to maintain a consistent width and shape of the metal sheet during the rolling process. The operator can gradually roll the metal sheet into the desired shape by controlling the speed and position of all four rolls.
