Dry-type transformers are widely used in local lighting, high-rise buildings, airports, docks, and CNC machinery equipment. Simply put, a dry-type transformer refers to a transformer where the core and winding are not immersed in insulating oil.

Cooling methods include Natural Air Cooling (AN) and Forced Air Cooling (AF). During Natural Air Cooling, transformers can operate continuously at their rated capacity for extended periods. With Forced Air Cooling, the transformer's output capacity can be increased by 50%. Suitable for intermittent overload operation or emergency overload operation; however, due to the significant increase in load loss and impedance voltage during overload, it is not economically viable to run it continuously at overload for extended periods.
