The drying chamber is a continuous operation drying equipment, with different temperatures and humidity levels in various sections of the chamber.
During the drying process, the wet坯 exchanges heat, moisture, and heat-moisture with the drying medium. The speed and intensity of this exchange vary at different stages of drying. As the坯体 dries in the drying chamber, both the wet坯 and the heat medium's performance indicators undergo significant changes.
To enhance the drying yield of the drying chamber, it is crucial to accurately control various drying parameters during the drying process. Only by adjusting the performance indicators of the drying medium and employing other operational methods of the drying chamber can we ensure the drying quality and improve the drying yield of the finished products.
During production, factors significantly impacting the drying yield include the molding moisture content of the wet green bodies, the stacking pattern during the drying process, and the performance of the drying medium.
严格控制 moisture content during the drying process is the process of removing water from the green body. If the molding moisture content of the green body increases, the drying process not only consumes more energy but also extends the drying time, while reducing the mechanical strength of the green body, making it prone to deformation and cracking. Therefore, the molding moisture content should be controlled within a certain range based on the molding properties of the raw materials and equipment conditions to ensure the green body has adequate mechanical strength. While controlling the molding moisture content, it is necessary to strengthen the treatment of raw materials, as processing the raw materials is an effective measure to accelerate the drying of the green body and improve the yield of dried products. In terms of raw material processing, several measures can be adopted: 1) Use natural weathering methods to evenly distribute moisture in the raw materials, accelerating the drying process. 2) Treat raw materials with aging storage to make their properties more uniform, which is beneficial for the drying process. 3) Collect raw materials using a mixed soil method to mix the raw materials during extraction. 4) In high plasticity raw materials, add a certain amount of defatted material to stabilize the properties of the raw materials, reduce their drying sensitivity, enhance their drying performance, and increase the yield of dried products in the drying chamber. The temperature of the drying medium must be stable. The temperature of the drying medium is a symbol of its ability to remove moisture. The higher the temperature of the drying medium, the stronger its ability to remove moisture, the faster the dehydration rate of the green body, and the higher the production efficiency of the drying chamber. However, the temperature of the drying medium should not be too high, as excessively high temperatures can cause rapid evaporation of surface moisture, while the movement of internal moisture is slower than the evaporation rate of surface moisture. This results in a larger surface contraction and smaller internal contraction, creating internal surface tension. When the surface strength of the green body is less than this tension, the surface will deform and crack. Additionally, faster drying on the surface leads to a decrease in the vapor pressure of water vapor on the surface, slowing down the evaporation rate and extending the drying time, thereby reducing the production efficiency of the drying chamber. If high-temperature, high-humidity drying mediums are used to dry the green body, due to the smaller moisture gradient in the green body, it is not prone to cracking, and the drying speed can be increased. Therefore, to improve the production efficiency of the drying chamber, it is necessary to control the temperature of the medium in the drying chamber, especially before the critical point, to ensure moderate dehydration capacity. After reaching the critical point, using high-temperature, low-humidity heat mediums for drying the green body can actually increase the production efficiency and yield of dried products in the drying chamber.
