What are the fire door rating levels? Fire doors serve the purpose of smoke and fire prevention. Let's take a look at the different levels of fire doors and their application venues.
Based on the time limit within which both fire resistance and heat insulation requirements can be simultaneously met, fire doors are categorized into Class A fire doors, Class B fire doors, and Class C fire doors.
Fire Door耐火Time Limit Requirements: Pursuant to the newly implemented national standard for fire-resistant doors, GB_12955-2008, which took effect on January 1, 2009, a fire-resistant door is one that has passed the fire-resistance test method and obtained a verification registration certificate and authorization mark issued by the Economic Affairs Ministry's Standard Inspection Bureau. Class A is not less than 1.5 hours, Class B not less than 1.0 hour, and Class C not less than 0.6 hour.

Fire-resistant doors of different grades are used in various scenarios and locations.
I. Applications and Scope of Class A Fireproof Doors:
When it is necessary to open windows or doors in firewalls, Class A fire-resistant windows and doors should be installed.
(2) The average weight of combustible materials in the basement exceeds 30 kg/m², and Class A fire doors should be used.
(3) When doors are installed in the partition walls between the fire elevator shaft, machine room, and adjacent elevator shaft, machine room, Class A fire doors should be set up.
(4) The equipment room for the automatic fire extinguishing system installed in high-rise buildings features ventilation, and the doors on the partition walls of the air conditioning rooms are Grade A fire doors.
(5) For doors on either side of the firewall that are no more than two meters apart, Class A fire doors should be installed; Class A normally open fire doors should be set at fire compartments for evacuation corridors.

Section II: Application and Scope of Class B Fire Doors
In high-rise factories (warehouses), densely populated public buildings, and multi-story Class B factory buildings with dense populations, the doors leading to the enclosed stairwells should be of Grade B fire doors.
(2) Exit corridors leading to antechambers and doors from antechambers to stairwells should be equipped with Class B fire doors.
(3) When it is necessary to open doors in the partition walls of the stairwells in basements or semi-basements, Grade B fire doors should be used.
(4) The door to the outdoor staircase should be an E-grade fire door and should open outward to the outdoor area.
(5) External doors opening into an unenclosed staircase should be equipped with Class B fire doors.
(6) The door leading to the foyer should be a Class B fire-resistant door. The first floor of the stairwell can incorporate the corridor and foyer into the stairwell, creating an expanded enclosed stairwell. However, it should be separated from other corridors and rooms using Class B fire-resistant doors and similar measures.
Section 3: Application and Scope of Class C Fire Doors
Inspection doors on the well wall should be of Grade C fire-resistant doors. A Grade C fire-resistant door should be installed in front of the garbage bin chamber.
