(1) Manually clean the cooling tower and the accumulated scale and dirt in the collecting water sump.
(2) Close the cooling tower recirculation valve, fill the sump with water, and dissolve the QM safety descaling agent in the tank using hot water around 50°C. Use the flushing pump to repeatedly circulate and rinse the packing until limescale and debris are thoroughly cleaned away. (If the packing has been in use for a long time, causing aging and collapse, it is recommended to replace the packing.)
(3) Rinse the packing and the interior and exterior of the tower with bactericidal and algicidal agents.
(4) Clean the recycle pump filter screen by removing rust, packing material, and other foreign objects. Inspect the filter screen for integrity; replace with a new screen if any damage is found.
Method Two
Filler Removal and Immersion Cleaning Method
A cleaning trough is constructed next to the artificial tower near the cooling tower, where the descaling agent is dissolved in the trough.
(2) Operators manually remove the filling material, submerge it in a cleaning tank for soaking and washing. After the drainage is cleaned, it is rinsed with clear water and then dried.
(3) All packing materials are removed and thoroughly cleaned. Subsequently, manual sweeping is conducted to clear any fallen debris and contaminants within the tower.
(4) Wash the interior and exterior of the tower and the collection water tray with a bactericidal and algicidal agent.
(5) Cleaned fillers will be reassembled as per original.
(6) Clean the circulating pump filter screen, removing rust, packing material, or any foreign objects. Check that the filter screen is intact.
