Microscopes are composed of precise mechanical components and optical lenses, serving as sophisticated optical instruments that unveil a brand new world to human eyes. They are indispensable auxiliary tools in experiments and teaching. Additionally, paying attention to the proper maintenance and care of microscopes is crucial, as it can extend their lifespan and ensure they remain in optimal working condition. How do microscopes achieve measurement functions?
1. Measurement is conducted through a reticle eyepiece, which features a scale size of 0.1mm. Actual object dimensions are determined by the corresponding objective magnification. For instance, if the objective is 5X and the eyepiece reticle shows 12 divisions, the object size is calculated as (12 x 0.1) / 5 = 0.24mm. This measurement method has average precision and the measurement range must be within the field of view.
2. Measurement via the Platform: The microscope measures using an XY digital display stage controlled by an XY micrometer head. The measurement precision reaches 0.001mm, and the travel corresponds to the micrometer head, typically ranging from 0-25mm.
3. Measurement via Analysis Software: Connected to a computer, the microscope is used with configured analysis software for precise measurements. This method boasts high accuracy with minimal error, offering convenience and speed. It is particularly well-suited for detecting small dimensions and has now become the primary method for microscope measurements.
