PVC line channels are composed of lids and bases. The reverse-lid design of the line channel allows for easy removal, making it convenient for inspecting or repairing cables after installation in electrical distribution cabinets. How to conveniently open the lid of the line channel after installation is a common issue encountered by many customers, especially with coarse-tooth or fine-tooth channels, where the resistance from the teeth can make opening a bit slow.
The simplest way to open a cable channel cover is to grip the sides of the cable channel with your hands and press inward with force. By lifting the cover of the PVC cable channel upwards, it should open easily. Be cautious to avoid issues with the teeth while pressing inward, as they might prevent the cover from opening.
In addition, if the cover of the wire channel is tightly closed and cannot be moved by hand, you can try gently prying it open at the joint with a screwdriver. This will also allow you to remove the channel cover. When opening the cover using this method, be careful not to apply excessive force to avoid damaging the wire channel or wiring.
