Operating Principle and Technical Features

The SSI oxygen probe uses zirconia (ZrO2) as the solid electrolyte, with an operating temperature typically ranging from 700℃ to 1100℃. When the temperature exceeds 650℃, zirconia acts as a solid electrolyte battery. A concentration potential difference (E) is generated across the inner and outer electrodes when there is a difference in oxygen partial pressure, with this potential being directly proportional to the oxygen partial pressure difference, thereby enabling the measurement of oxygen concentration.
