During winter, many pieces of machinery may encounter various issues due to cold weather, especially during startup. Diesel generators are no exception. What should one pay attention to when starting a diesel generator in winter, and what preparations should be made?
Winter Launch Preparations:
Ensure stable diesel supply
Ensure the capacity and voltage of the battery.
3. Manual cranking of the diesel engine
4. Perform a减压start on the intake and exhaust valves
5. Heat the cooling water
6. Reduce the resistance to startup
7. After the diesel generator set is started, it cannot be powered on immediately. It needs to run at high speed for 5 to 8 minutes until the water and oil temperatures reach approximately 60°C before normal power supply can be initiated. Otherwise, it may easily lead to cylinder pull and cracks in the cylinder head.
Especially for northern regions, some areas may experience temperatures as low as minus十几 degrees Celsius. Extremely low temperatures undoubtedly have an impact on the normal operation of diesel generators, and maintenance personnel need to pay extra attention to certain issues on a daily basis.
