201 Stainless Steel Sheet

Stainless steel refers to steel that resists corrosion from mild corrosive media such as air, steam, and water, as well as from chemical侵蚀 agents like acids, alkalis, and salts. It is also known as acid-resistant steel. The surface texture of stainless steel wire drawing resembles a wire-like pattern, which is merely one processing technique for stainless steel. The surface is matte, with a subtle, barely noticeable wire-like texture when viewed closely, but it's not detectable by touch. It is more wear-resistant than standard glossy stainless steel and appears more upscale. Stainless steel wire drawing panels are commonly used in high-end kitchen and bathroom finishes, as well as on appliance panels.

Brushed stainless steel

Brushed stainless steel features a surface texture resembling silk. This is merely one processing technique for stainless steel. The surface is matte, and upon close inspection, one can see fine lines of texture, but they are not palpable. It is more wear-resistant than regular glossy stainless steel and appears more upscale.

The polishing process will cause a certain degree of thickness reduction in stainless steel plates, usually between 0.1~0.2mm. Additionally, due to the abundant oil and sweat secretion on the human body, especially on the palms, stainless steel brushed plates often leave noticeable fingerprints when touched by hand, requiring regular cleaning.

Stainless steel brushed plate surface pattern classification

Brushed plate generally refers to a surface texture, previously known as sandblasted board. The surface textures mainly include straight lines, wavy lines (herringbone), wave patterns, and screw threads, among others.

1. Satin finish with straight lines. Typically achieved through mechanical abrasion on the surface of stainless steel, resulting in a linear textured surface. The processing of the satin board can eliminate scratches on the surface of the stainless steel sheet material and also offers excellent decorative effects. This texture comes in both long and short thread patterns, as the lines are created on the surface of the sheet using a scouring pad or stainless steel brush in straight or short strokes. The coarseness of the texture can be varied by changing the diameter of the steel brush.

2. Wavy Thread (and weave). The surface texture appears as concentric circles from a distance, but up close it's irregular wavy patterns, formed by the grinding head's uneven movement up, down, left, and right, followed by electroplating and coloring. This texture has a matte finish and requires high craftsmanship standards.

3. Brushed Wavy Pattern. The manufacturing process involves the use of an abrasive brush or a scratching machine with a rotating abrasive roller, resulting in a wavy pattern on the surface of the stainless steel after brushing.

4. Brushed thread. The manufacturing process has some unique features. Initially, a small motor with a circular felt on its shaft is fixed on the desk, at an angle of about 60 degrees to the edge of the table. A sliding board is then created to secure the stainless steel sheets, and a polyester film is placed along the edge of the sliding board to control the threading speed. Afterward, by rotating the felt and the straight movement of the sliding board, the same width thread pattern can be achieved on the surface of the stainless steel sheet.
