The purpose of the D503 brake pad steel backing is primarily to secure the friction material, facilitating installation in the braking system. The steel backing is one component of the brake pad. Currently, disc brakes are widely used in the market, and almost all disc brake pads have high-intensity friction material sintered onto a steel plate. This material moves freely within the caliper under the push of the brake cylinder. Since this steel plate is located behind the friction pad, it is commonly referred to as the steel backing.
