Peripheral drive mud scraper is a scraper with the drive system located at the edge of the sedimentation pond, usually arranged symmetrically. Therefore, a drive system including an electric motor, reducer, gear set, drive shaft, bearings, and wheels, etc., needs to be set up on both sides of the pond. Types include: full-bridge, half-bridge.




(1) Full-bridge




Composition Structure:




Primarily composed of components such as the working bridge, central support, scraper girder, drive unit, flow stabilizer tube, skimmer plate, float slag bucket, mud scraper, and collecting device.




Application Scope:




This equipment is suitable for primary and secondary sedimentation tanks in large sewage treatment plants (typically with flow rates exceeding 600 cubic meters per hour and tank diameters greater than 20 meters). It scrapes and collects sludge from the bottom of the tanks, usually equipped with a float渣 scraper system at the top, central inflow, and peripheral outflow, with mud being discharged centrally.




Operating Principle:




Under the power of the drive unit, the scraper truss and mud scraper assembly rotate slowly around the central support, scraping sludge settled at the bottom of the pool towards the central mud collection pit. The sludge in the mud hopper is discharged out of the pool through the pressure difference of water level within the pool. Meanwhile, the skimming plate diverts floating debris into the skimming hopper, which is then automatically flushed out of the pool or drained out naturally.




(B) Half-bridge




Structure:




The complete unit is mainly composed of bridge frames, driving devices, vertical shafts, underwater bearings, double scraper arms, and mud scrapers.




Working Principle:




Wastewater from the sedimentation pond flows into the conduit under the working bridge, then spreads evenly around the pond due to the uniform distribution of the umbrella-shaped cover of the conduit. Sludge settles at the bottom of the pond by gravity. The scraper rotates slowly under the drive of the scraper arm, and the clarified liquid separated from it is discharged out of the pond through the overflow weir plate. The sediment is scraped along the pond perimeter by the scraper and directed into the central mud pit at the center, from where it is discharged to outside the pond via the mud discharge pipe under the action of hydrostatic pressure.
