From February 3rd to 6th, 2019, at the ISPO trade show in Munich, Germany, 3M unveiled a new sustainable thermal material for the fashion apparel industry—Recycled Insulation Material. This material employs fibers made from recycled plastics, serving as a sustainable alternative to traditional materials like cotton and down. It maintains the performance of new Snowfleece™ while reducing the environmental impact of plastic products. For years, 3M has been committed to researching and reusing waste materials, and now it is one of the first companies to innovate in recycling waste plastics to reduce waste. The introduction of the Recycled Insulation Material at the show drew attention from major international apparel brands.
