LS Type Screw Conveyor (commonly known as a auger)
One, Overview:
The LS type screw conveyor is designed and manufactured according to the standard JB/T 7679-95 "Screw Conveyors" and is a replacement product for the GX screw conveyor. Commonly known as a screw auger, the screw conveyor is a widely used conveying equipment in the mining, feed, grain and oil, and construction industries. Made of steel, it is used for conveying high-temperature powders or solid particles and other chemical and building materials products.
II. Working Principle:
As the spiral shaft rotates, the material is moved forward along the bottom of the conveyor trough solely by the push of the blades, due to the material's gravity and the friction it generates with the trough walls. This scenario is akin to a non-rotating nut sliding along a rotating screw. The movement of the material within the intermediate bearing is propelled by the force of the advancing material ahead. Therefore, the transportation of material in the conveyor is entirely a sliding motion. To keep the spiral shaft in a more favorable tensioned state, it is generally arranged to place the drive unit and discharge opening at the same end of the conveyor, while positioning the feed opening as close to the end of the opposite end as possible. The rotating spiral blades push the material for conveying, with the force preventing the material from rotating along with the spiral conveyor blades being the material's own weight and the frictional resistance from the conveyor housing. The blade shapes vary according to the material being conveyed, including solid face, belt face, and blade face types. The spiral conveyor's spiral shaft has thrust bearings at the end of the material's movement direction to accommodate the axial reactive force on the spiral from the material. For longer conveyor lengths, intermediate hanger bearings should be added.
