Distillation Forms: Continuous Distillation/Discontinuous Distillation, Simple Evaporation/Purification Distillation, Vacuum Distillation.
Types of evaporators: batch evaporators, falling film evaporators, film evaporators, and short-path distillers.
According to the kinetic theory of molecules, the molecules in a liquid mixture accelerate their motion when heated. Upon receiving sufficient energy, they escape from the liquid surface to become gaseous molecules. As the number of gas-phase molecules above the surface increases, some of the gas returns to the liquid. Under constant external conditions, a dynamic equilibrium of molecular motion is reached, meaning that from a macroscopic perspective, equilibrium is achieved. Different types of molecules, due to their varying effective diameters, have different average free paths, which means that statistically, the distance traveled by each type of molecule without colliding with others after escaping the liquid surface differs.
The separation effect of molecular distillation is achieved by utilizing the fact that when liquid molecules are heated, they escape from the liquid surface, and the average free path of different types of molecules varies after they escape.
