The New Favorite of the Flower Sea — Dianthus chinensis, a new species bred through interspecific hybridization, perennial grass, and flower cultivation. The outdoor cultivation blooming period is from early April to mid-October. The blooming season spans April to June. The average blooming period for a single flower is 18 days. From October to November, under proper maintenance, it can bloom again; when the temperature is above 5°C, the flowers can bloom sparsely, forming a flower lawn; when the temperature is above 0°C, the flowers can also bloom sporadically; in full bloom, these flowers can better cover the leaves, creating a spectacular sea of Dianthus chinensis flowers.
The evergreen Sidalcea blooms throughout the year in frost-free zones; it performs well in growth and flowering under half-day sunlight during the hot season. This variety is tolerant to light trampling, with a normal maintenance and growth period of over 10 years.
Dianthus grows in dense clusters on the ground, with plants reaching 5-6 cm in height and flower stems standing at 9 cm. The stems are thin with short internodes; leaves densely cover the ground, measuring 3-4 cm in length and 3 mm in width. The leaves are a bright green. After frost, the leaves turn a deeper green, with a faint purple hue below 0°C; they have a high germination rate, with each leaf axil naturally branching out. The flowers are a light purple, fragrant, with petals forming a pentagram shape, measuring 1-1.5 cm in diameter, and arranged closely upwards.
Saxifrage is a perennial evergreen herb. It thrives in sunny conditions and is resistant to semi-shaded environments. It is relatively tolerant of both cold and high temperatures, growing normally in continuous low temperatures of -35°C and high temperatures of 43°C. It is drought-resistant and generally does not require watering for outdoor planting, but it is not tolerant of waterlogging or humidity. It is suitable for well-drained sandy loam soils, often found on sloping wastelands. It is relatively tolerant of salinity and alkalinity and can grow normally in acidic to slightly alkaline environments, with few pests and diseases.
