What is a bridge pre-tensioning water bag? What is its function? How is it used?
Have you ever heard of bridge pre-stressing water bags? If not, you're not alone. I hadn't heard of them either until I learned about this product. Upon discovering its existence, I immediately sought out related information. To my surprise, I found out just how useful these bags are. If you're interested in bridge pre-stressing water bags, make sure to read this article carefully. It will cover the meaning, functions, and usage of these bags. There's no time to waste. Let's dive in with the editors from Huxiang!
What is a bridge pre-stressed water bag?
The bridge pre-stress water bags, also known as test pressure water bags, are currently mainly used in the construction of railway and highway bridges. During the bridge construction phase, conducting pre-stress tests on the bridge load is a crucial quality control task for ensuring engineering standards are met. Traditionally, this involves using iron drums or sand bags to create actual pressure tests on the bridge, which requires a substantial amount of labor and materials to transport these heavy items from the ground to the bridge. In poor construction environments, this process is even more time-consuming and labor-intensive, necessitating the use of heavy lifting and transportation equipment and posing certain safety risks to workers. However, using collapsible soft water bags for pre-stress eliminates these issues. Operators simply place the empty bags at the pre-stress location; the empty bags can weigh over a hundred kilograms, making them easy to transport and operate. Then, they are filled with water using a pump for testing.
Why use bridge pre-tensioning water bags, and what is their function?
Addressing ground settlement issues in soft strata.
2. Addressing the issue of pre-deformation in the support system for tall and large scaffolding.
3. Inspect and verify if the bracket meets the load-bearing requirements.
How to Use Bridge Pre-tensioning Water Bags
1. Place the pre-pressure water bag flat and spread out at the required pre-pressure location. The water outlet valve is located at the lower end of the pre-pressure water bag, with the valve facing downward, exposing the bottom template. Close the switch.
2. Utilize a high-pressure water pump, connect the water pipe to the inlet valve, turn on the switch and the exhaust switch, and expel the air inside the bag. Begin filling with water, and close the valve once it's full.
3. The template does not sink within the pre-compression requirement period (3-7 days), at which point the lower water valve can be opened to release the water.
4. After use, fold the water bag and store it indoors for the next use.
