Dongguan Waste Cutting Oil Recycling Products Application Fields
2024-06-19
Special cutting, high-speed cutting, and heavy-duty cutting processes for metal products such as cast iron, alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, high-nickel steel, heat-resistant steel, and mold steel. This includes turning, milling, boring, high-speed threading, drilling, reaming, broaching, and gear cutting. A special lubricating oil, with low viscosity properties.
The base oil for lubricants is blended with a portion of vegetable oils and animal fats, along with antioxidants, anti-wear agents, rust inhibitors, and other additives. It comes in two types: oil-based and water-based. The latter contains 80% to 95% water and has emulsifying capabilities, commonly known as cutting fluid. Cutting oil is used for lubrication and cooling during the metal cutting process, to facilitate the operation of tools and components.
Feature
During metal cutting operations, cutting is always performed on new surfaces, with speeds varying from several millimeters to hundreds of meters per minute, and pressures reaching up to 2-3 GPa. In addition to external friction, there is also internal friction between the tool and the molecules within the cut metal. The interface temperature in the cutting zone can reach 600-800°C. Such high temperatures and pressures can reduce the strength and hardness of the tool, so the cutting oil must provide cooling, lubrication, cleaning, and rust prevention.
Cooling
The technology exhibits its effectiveness in reducing tool tip temperature, inhibiting thermal expansion of the workpiece material and the tool, thereby enhancing operational performance and processing accuracy. Water has higher thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity than oil, and a lower viscosity as well, making the emulsion's cooling performance significantly superior to that of oil.
Lubrication
Reducing friction between the front cutting edge and chips, as well as between the rear cutting edge and the work surface, prevents adhesion, built-up edges, burrs, or cold welding. This, in turn, reduces power consumption and tool wear, while achieving a better surface finish.
Corrosion Prevention
To prevent rust caused by water and oxygen in the atmosphere on newly processed surfaces, rust inhibitors are added to the cutting oil to enhance its rust-preventing properties, meeting the short-term protective needs of the workpiece during the processing.
Washing
Utilizing liquid flow to wash away fine chips and powder prevents caking, ensuring continuous processing of tools and workpieces. In grinding operations, poor cleaning properties of cutting oils can lead to sandpaper clogs, increasing the temperature in the grinding zone and damaging the workpiece. Using low-viscosity oils and adding surfactants can enhance the cleaning effectiveness of cutting.
In addition to the aforementioned performance, the cutting fluid should also possess stability of the emulsion during the processing, non-separation, resistance to hard water, and the ability to prevent bacterial contamination and deterioration.
