When using a gantry crane to lift heavy loads, the hook's wire rope should remain vertical and not drag the lifted object diagonally.
2. When lifting heavy objects, locate the balance point accurately and secure the ties firmly. For objects with sharp corners, use wooden blocks to pad them properly.
Before the heavy load is lifted off the ground, the crane must not rotate.
4. When lifting or lowering heavy objects, maintain a steady and uniform speed to avoid sudden changes that may cause the object to swing in the air, posing a risk. When lowering heavy objects, ensure the descent is not too rapid to prevent damage upon impact.
5. Under load lifting conditions, avoid lowering the boom as much as possible. When it is necessary to lower the boom under load, the lifting capacity must not exceed 50% of the specified weight.
6. When a crane is rotating under load, close attention should be paid to the surrounding area for any obstructions. If any are present, they should be avoided or removed.
Crane boom area must be kept clear of personnel, and personnel should be avoided from passing through as much as possible.
Two cranes operating on the same track must be separated by a distance greater than 3 meters.
When two cranes are lifting an object together, the combined lifting capacity must not exceed 75% of the total capacity of both cranes. The walking and lifting actions of the two cranes must be synchronized.
10. Hoisting and variable-gauge steel cables must be inspected weekly and records kept. Specific requirements should be followed according to the regulations for hoisting steel cables.
When moving or reversing with an empty vehicle, the hook must be elevated at least 2 meters above the ground.
When wind speeds exceed level 6, work should be immediately halted. TMK should turn the boom into the wind direction and lower it appropriately, securing the hook. The gantry crane must be fitted with iron wedges (rail stoppers), and the hook raised to the top limit. At the same time, close all doors and windows, disconnect the power, and secure the guy ropes. This procedure should also be followed after work is completed daily.
