Steel Sheet Piling Support Construction Details:
(1) Prior to driving the pile, the groove at the pile tip should be sealed to prevent soil from entering, and the locking mouth should be coated with butter or other lubricants. For aged, poorly maintained, deformed, and severely rusted steel sheet piles, repairs and straightening should be conducted. Bent piles can be straightened using hydraulic jacks or by heating methods.
(2) Piling phase segmentation.
During the pile driving process, two theodolites are used to control the verticality of the steel sheet piles in two directions.
(4) The positioning and orientation of the first and second steel sheet piles should be precise to serve as a guiding template. Therefore, a measurement should be taken after every 1-meter insertion. Once the predetermined depth is reached, immediately use rebar or steel plate to temporarily secure it with electric welding to the bracing supports.
Steel Sheet Piling Piering Precautions:
1) After the guide piles are set, they are securely welded with channel steel to prevent any movement, ensuring accuracy during pile driving.
2) Line pile insertion: After the steel sheet pile is lifted, manually insert the pile into the locking slot, move slowly to prevent damaging the locking slot. After insertion, slightly loosen the hoisting rope to allow the pile to slide in by its own weight.
When the steel sheet piles are vibrated and driven to less than 20~40cm below the designed elevation, proceed with caution to prevent over-driving.
