Dalian weather-resistant steel plateWeathering steel, also known as atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel, is a low-alloy steel series that falls between plain steel and stainless steel. It is made by adding a small amount of corrosion-resistant elements like copper and nickel to carbon steel, and possesses characteristics such as strength, toughness, ductility, formability, weldability, abrasion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and fatigue resistance. Its weather resistance is 2 to 8 times that of carbon steel, and its paintability is 1.5 to 10 times better. Additionally, it resists rust, extending the lifespan of components, reducing material thickness, and saving labor and energy. Weathering steel is primarily used in steel structures that are exposed to the atmosphere for long periods, such as in railroads, vehicles, bridges, towers, solar power plants, and expressway projects. It is also used in the manufacturing of containers, railway vehicles, oil rig structures, harbor buildings, oil extraction platforms, and chemical and petroleum equipment containing corrosive substances.
