Principle of Operation
The pipe jacking method is an underground pipeline construction technique that has developed after the shield tunneling method. It does not require excavation of the surface layer and can cross roads, railways, rivers, ground buildings, underground structures, and various underground pipelines. The pipe jacking process relies on the thrust from the main jacking cylinder and intermediate chambers between the pipes, pushing the tool pipe or tunneling machine from the working shaft through the soil layers all the way to the receiving shaft for lifting. Simultaneously, the pipeline that follows the tool pipe or tunneling machine is also buried between the two shafts, aiming to achieve a non-excavation method for laying underground pipelines.
