The main function of waterproof boards is to prevent liquid leakage and gas volatilization. In rock engineering, waterproof boards primarily serve as a barrier against seepage and isolation, yet they also enhance and protect the structures. They are mainly used for: seepage prevention in earth and rock dams, rubble mounds, stone masonry dams, concrete dams, tailings dams, wastewater reservoir embankments, canals, liquid storage pools, and more. They are also employed in waterproof lining for subways, basements, and tunnels, as well as in the seepage prevention of highway and railway foundations. Additionally, they are used in conjunction with geotextiles like long-fiber geotextiles and bentonite waterproofing membranes in sanitary landfills.
