Recommendations for the Burial of Ductile Iron Pipe Systems
The burial depth of pipelines should be determined based on factors such as the degree of frost, external loads, and intersections with other pipelines. Under normal circumstances, the burial depth of Ductile Iron Pipes can be 0.2 meters below the frost line, and it should meet the following conditions: when the pipe diameter is greater than 100mm, the minimum burial depth at the pipe top is 1.20 meters.
2. The design groove bottom width is generally 0.5 meters wider than the pipe outer diameter, and the excavation slope (i) is determined based on the soil condition, with a cross-sectional view of the groove drawn.
3. Ductile iron pipes, like other piping materials, also experience a uniform head loss along the flow path given by hf = λ/dv^2/2g. The only difference lies in the "λ" (hydraulic friction coefficient), which means the head loss can be calculated according to the local resistance loss of the original cast iron pipes.
