The double-roller crusher has a relatively simple structure, yet the components are tightly integrated, collectively accomplishing the crushing operation. Its main structural features include:

Rack: The rack is the supporting structure of the double-roller crusher, typically made of cast iron, but can also be constructed from steel sections welded together or bolted assembly. The rack must be robust and sturdy to withstand the tremendous forces generated during the crushing process.

The Crushing Roll: The crushing roll is the main working part of the double-roller crusher, consisting of two rolls rotating in opposite directions. One roll's bearing is movable, while the other's is fixed. The crushing roll is composed of an axle, hub, and roller shell, with the roller shell fixed to the hub and secured together with parts like conical arc iron and bolts and nuts. The roller shell comes into direct contact with the ore, necessitating frequent replacements, and is typically made from high-wear-resistant materials such as high manganese steel or special carbon steel (e.g., chrome steel, chrome-manganese steel, etc.).

Transmission Device: The transmission device is used to drive the rotation of the crushing roller. Generally, two electric motors are employed, powered by a V-belt (or a gear reduction unit) and a pair of long-tooth gears, to rotate the two crushing rollers in opposite directions. The electric motors are positioned below a movable bearing to minimize fluctuations in belt tension.

Adjustment Device: The adjustment device is used to adjust the gap size between the two crushing rolls (i.e., the ore discharge opening size) to control the particle size of the crushed product. The gap can be adjusted by adding or removing shims between the two roller bearings, or by the worm gear adjustment mechanism.

The Spring Lock Device: A vital component of the double-roll crushing machine, the spring lock device is designed to protect the machine from overload damage. During the crushing process, when encountering non-crushable objects, the spring compresses, forcing the movable crushing roller to laterally move, thereby increasing the ore discharge width, allowing non-crushable objects to be expelled. Once the non-crushable objects are removed, the spring returns to its original state, enabling the machine to continue operating.
