Low-voltage power lines utilizing cables. Cables consist of cores, insulating layers, and protective sheaths. There are many types of cables, with low-voltage power cables primarily used in low-voltage cable lines.
Common laying methods for low-voltage cable lines include: 1. Direct burial; 2. Laid in a cable trench; 3. Along the wall; 4. Installed in a cable tunnel.
Low-voltage power cables are primarily selected based on the environmental conditions and laying methods used. Although the cost is higher and installation and maintenance more challenging compared to low-voltage overhead lines and insulated overhead lines, low-voltage cable lines are widely used in low-voltage distribution systems due to their reliable operation, absence of poles, minimal ground occupation, aesthetic appeal, and reduced external interference. These lines are mainly used in areas where high reliability of power supply (refer to power quality) is required, or where the installation of overhead lines or insulated overhead lines is not suitable due to corrosive gases or flammable, explosive substances.
