UPS power supplies are widely used in server rooms, but they require inspection when being powered on.
What should you check before powering up the UPS? Let's explore that today.
1. Container Roof Inspection
Inspect for any fallen debris on the top of the cabinet, clean off dust and metal shavings with a brush and vacuum cleaner. Be cautious to prevent any debris from falling into the cabinet or adjacent equipment during the cleaning process. Ensure that each screw on the cabinet's cover panel is securely tightened with a screwdriver to avoid loosening.
2. Inbound and outbound line blockage inspection

Cabinet line holes must be installed and sealed in accordance with relevant requirements to prevent foreign objects from entering, which could affect the use of the UPS power supply.
Terminal Inspection
Inspect for any foreign objects at the copper busbar terminal connections; if found, they must be cleaned promptly.
4. PCB Inspection
Pay attention to inspecting circuit boards as well. Use anti-static brushes to clean the surfaces of filter boards and system signal interface boards to prevent foreign matter from affecting the use of UPS power supply.
5. Inspection of the cabinet rear and bottom
Ensure thorough inspection of cabinets for UPS power supplies. Clean up any iron shavings, copper wires, and other foreign objects around the cabinet. Pay attention to checking for foreign objects in the cabinet bottom plate of the functional cabinet and the rear module mounting frames. If any are found, they should be promptly cleared to avoid affecting the use of the UPS power supply. This is what we're introducing regarding the checks that need to be performed before powering on the UPS. We hope everyone will pay attention to these checks to better utilize the UPS power supply.
