Block Dry Ice, Storage and Precautions for Dry Ice
Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide at a temperature of -78.5 degrees Celsius. Do not place it in your mouth to prevent frostbite.
It can directly sublime into a tasteless carbon dioxide gas 800 times larger in volume than the solid, hence dry ice cannot be stored in containers with good sealing properties and a small volume.
3. Dry ice should be stored in a specialized storage container to minimize rapid loss. The daily loss of dry ice in storage is typically 5-6%. During loading, it's common to add a few kilograms of extra dry ice to ensure the customer receives a sufficient quantity of goods.
4. Store and use dry ice in a well-ventilated area; never place it in an enclosed space with dry ice.
Always handle dry ice with thick gloves, tongs, and other protective gear to prevent frostbite.
