A sodium hypochlorite generator for photovoltaic systems is a device that produces sodium hypochlorite solution by passing low-concentration saltwater through an electrolytic electrode, where an electrochemical reaction occurs.
Currently, in terms of water disinfection types, there are agents and methods such as chlorine dioxide (CL2), sodium hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide, trichloroisocyanuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, ozone, and additional methods like iodine water, high-valent oxidizing water, and ultraviolet disinfection.
In disinfectants, while CL2 is economical, its unsafe transportation and storage, along with its low solubility in water, cause the pressure in CL2 bottles to fluctuate constantly, leading to inaccurate dosing. Furthermore, the diffusion of gases like CL2 poses harmful environmental effects, and the high reactivity of free chlorine can easily form carcinogenic chlorinated organic compounds such as tetrachloromethane and dioxins with many organic substances.
